Peter S. Ambrosio

Peter S. Ambrosio, 88, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Thursday September 7, 2017, surrounded by his loving family in the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, NH. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 24, 1929, a son of the late Vincenzo and Fortuna (DeVivo) Ambrosio.  Raised in Ozone Park, NY, Mr. Ambrosio moved to Salem, NH in 1972 and spent the last 20 years in Londonderry. He proudly served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for 48 years at AT&T, formerly Western Electric, as a transportation supervisor. Mr. Ambrosio was a communicant of St. Jude Parish in Londonderry, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Ambrosio was a founding member of the Salem, NH Little League and as a Coach was instrumental in its expansion. He loved to go to casinos and play the slots, his friends all called him “Lucky Pete.” He also enjoyed bingo, travel, dancing and vacationing with his family. He will be remembered as a supportive, funny, generous, devoted family man who lived for his family and friends.

He is survived by his four children, Lisa Ambrosio of Amherst, Lori Conte and husband William of E. Hampstead, Glenn Ambrosio and wife Sarah of Tewksbury, MA, and Chris Ambrosio of New York, NY, his four grandchildren, Alyssa (Conte) Cabral, Billy Conte, Josh Ambrosio, and Jessica Ambrosio, three Brothers, Michael Ambrosio of CA, Joseph Ambrosio of FL, and Richard Ambrosio and wife Norma of NY; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Catherine (Lennon) Ambrosio in 1989, a son James Ambrosio in 1977, as well as his sister Rae Ambrosio, and twin sisters, Tillie Rawald and Anna Martinson

Calling hours were held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
