Anderson Grabs 1,000th Rebound, Lancers Continue Winning

The Londonderry High School Girls’ Basketball team continued to plow through their opponents, tacking on three more victories to remain undefeated in the division with just four games left before the playoffs.
In the first of those three wins, versatile senior, Reagan Anderson, also hit a major individual milestone by getting her 1,000th rebound of her high school career.

The achievement came in the fourth quarter of the team’s win 44-32 victory over the Portsmouth Clippers on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
The game was a rather low-scoring event, with Londonderry barely hitting double digits in each of the four quarters.
After the first, the teams looked fairly evenly matched, with each getting 11-points.
The Lancers separated from the Clippers in the second, outscoring the visitors 13-6 to take a 24-17 at halftime.
Portsmouth was held to just 15-points in the second half, with LHS putting up 10 in each quarter for the 12-point win.
Going into the game Anderson needed eight rebounds to hit her milestone, she got that rebound with 1:45 left in the game when Brooke Wilson missed her second free-throw.
With that, the game stopped to honor her major accomplishment.
Head coach Jon Doherty stated, “Reagan Anderson has been a four year starter here at Londonderry High School and has helped build the culture of this program.”
He added, “Reagan has spent tireless games living up to the reputation of being 6’4 in a 5’5 body, tonight is proof of that.”
He also said that she is one of the most selfless players this program has been lucky enough to have and we cannot thank her enough for all her hard work and commitment.”
Sophomore Gemma Murray was the lead scorer in the game, finishing with 21-points, including three from outside the arc.
Junior Sammie Sullivan finished with 10-points and junior Brooke Eacrett put up eight.
On Friday night, the Lancers got win number 13 when they traveled to Trinity High School and outmatched the Pioneers 60-22.
The 42-point victory was the teams 13th consecutive, putting them four behind the Bedford Bulldogs with 17 wins.
The following day, the Lancers traveled to Farmington, where they took on the 12-4 Division IV Tigers.
That game also turned out to be a low scoring event with Londonderry edging out the Tigers 45-41.
The Lancers head into the final stretch with four games remaining, one of which will be Bedford final game of the season, in Bedford, on Friday night, Feb. 21, starting at 7 p.m.
