The 2023 CHaD football battle of East vs. West was well represented by Londonderry players last week with six Lancers making the squad that was coached by LHS head coach and Athletic Director, Jimmy Lauzon.
Lancer quarterback and baseball state champ, Drew Heenan, was a prominent player in the contest as well as Andrew Kullman, a track state champion. Nate Pedrick, Ryan Pemberton, Michael Sampson, Jason Senus, and Trevor Weinmann also played in the game.
The East squad, led by Heenan at QB, started very strong, but a fumble near the goal line in the first drive resulted in a turnover. The drive also featured three completions to Kullman as well as a number of yards gained the ground by Heenan.
East took the first lead in the game with three-points to start the second quarter on a 22-yard field goal.
West tied the game at 3-3 before the end of the first half.
Down 10-3 in the fourth quarter, Heenan and Kullman connected with a 20-yard completion to knot the game at 10 before time expired in regulation.
It took two overtime periods to decide the winner, with West getting a 32-yard field goal to win.
Heenan was 10 of 21 for 172-yards of passing in the game and countless yards on the ground.
Kullman finished the game with one touchdown reception on seven catches at 153-yards.
The CHaD New Hampshire East-West All-Star football game was played on Friday night, June 23, at Saint Anselm College features some of the best NHIAA graduating players from all three divisions.
Proceeds raised by the game benefit the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
This was the second year in a row that West has won the game.
