Big Loss for Little Green Against Lancers at Gill Stadium

The Londonderry High School football team had a fairly easy time of dispatching of the Little Green in Manchester over the weekend. The defense allowed just one touchdown, while the offense had five trips to the endzone for a 34-6 victory.
This was the Lancers fourth win of the season, putting them at 4-1 in the Division I standings and at the top of the Central Division. Londonderry’s closest rival, Pinkerton Academy dropped to 3-2 with their 25-28 loss to the Bedford Bulldogs on Friday night and fell to fourth.


The Lancers scored touchdowns in three of the four quarters, getting two in the first two and adding one in the third.
Londonderry tallied 396-yards of offense and limited Central to 209-yards.
The Lancers accumulated 221-yards on the ground and 175-passing yards in the overwhelming win.
Ethan Wheeler had one catch for 40-yards, Mason Paquette pulled in three for 39-yards total, while Devin Boles and Adrian Cruz both had two catches for 28-yards.
Senior quarterback, Sam Ogden, tallied 134-passing-yards in 16 attempts, while fellow QB Alexander Villa put up 22-passing-yards on one attempt.
Londonderry scored in the their first possession of the game, getting into the endzone with just three plays.
Villa had a 50-yard run with a quarterback keeper from the 47-yard-line with senior kicker, Blake Thompson, adding the extra-point.
The Lancers next trip to the CHS end zone was nearly as quick, traveling 44-yards in four plays to go ahead by 14-points.
The second touchdown came when Ogden dropped back to the to the Central 43-yard-line and connected with Wheeler at the ten and ran it in.
Thompson’s second attempt at the extra-point was good to make it a 14-0 LHS lead.
Following a three-and-out forced by the tough LHS defense, the Lancers finished up the first quarter and started the second with their third score in as many possessions.
After six plays, starting at their 47-yard-line, Ogden had his second long completion for a touchdown. This time to Paquette, who had an 18-yard reception and run for the team’s third touchdown. Thompson followed up with his third successful extra-point attempt.
The Little Green made it 21-6 in their first drive of the second quarter, scoring on 10-plays from their 38-yard line.
Boles broke through the line to make a successful block on the extra-point attempt.
The Lancers ended the half with a drive that lasted just under a minute, scoring on seven plays, to end the half at 27-6.
Ogden had his second completion to Paquette, this time for a 13-yard score. Thompson’s extra-point was blocked.
The only touchdown of the second half came in the Lancers first drive of the third. After a nine-plays drive, Villa had a four-yard-run to pay dirt on a quarterback keeper, followed by Thompson’s fourth successful extra-point for the 34-6 final.
Londonderry will host their third home game of the season on Friday night, Oct. 18, playing Nashua North, who just won their first game of the season. The Titans beat the Grizzlies in Goffstown 17-0.
