Cross Country Teams Compete in Nashua North Invitational

The Londonderry High School Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams traveled to Mines Falls Park in Nashua on Saturday, Sept. 16, and competed in the Nashua North Invitational.
As a team, the LHS boys had an eighth place finish out of 17 teams and the girls came in at 11th out of 16 teams.
For the Lancers varsity boys’ team, three sophomores crossed the line first.
Carson Fitzgerald had a time of 16:32.91 and finished 15th overall. Josh Twomey had a 19th place finish at 16:35.17 and Jack DiBuono crossed at 17:22.55 for 44th.
Other top 100 finishers were: Senior, Will Buckley at 17:34.70; junior Alex Vaccaro, 17:40.85; and sophomore Donovan Chylinski at 18:09.44.
Head coach, Matt Smith, a lot of improvement at the second meet, saying, “The team as a whole continues to progress nicely. A lot of guys ran their personal bests and this was a great step towards accomplishing our goals this season. Each week we’re improving and getting closer to some of the teams we need to compete with if we’re going to make some noise during the championship meets.”
In the girls’ race, junior Sayde White was the top finisher for LHS with a time of 21:59.29 and coming in at the 50th spot.
Ten positions behind White was sophomore Drewanne Sherman with a time of 22:40.79.
Senior Amara Williams crossed the line at 23:00.14; sophomore Alera Tonniges had a time of 23:23.87; sophomore Ella DiBuono finished at 24:16.94; Harper LaBonte, 24:21.04; and sophomore Bella Mulherm (24:27:48).
Both teams will compete in the Manchester Invitational being held on Saturday morning at Derryfield Park starting at 9 a.m.
