David Rowand Howard Sr., 63, of Bethel Park died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Born in Pittsburgh on July 1, 1953, he was the son of the late Harry Rowand and Lois Marie Reese Howard. He was a member of St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park and a former member of the church’s choir. David was an Environmental Engineer and worked as a project manager for numerous consulting firms and industries. During his career, he was an active member with the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).
He will always be remembered for his beautiful singing voice and always being ready to help family and friends. Surviving are his wife Mara Irene Hlavacik of Bethel Park, 2 sons; David (Shawna) Rowand Howard Jr. and Andrew Paul Howard all of Londonderry, a brother, John (Diane) Howard of Sommerville, NJ, a sister Virginia (Scott) Dagnall of Bethlehem, PA, 2 stepsisters, Heather (Bill) Elfrink of Wadsworth, OH and Robyn (Michael) Deterling of Akron, OH, a stepmother Marcia Howard of Medina, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
