Londonderry Girl Scout Troop 58211 lead by Kelly Seichepine and Sara Clark, donated $1,000 worth of playground equipment amongst the three elementary schools. The girls earned a “Take Action” badge for a project that has a positive, lasting impact within their community.
The girls wrote letters and met with their school principals to determine the need and what was possible. They brainstormed ideas as a troop and then researched the costs of each item.
The purchase of all the equipment was fully funded by the troop’s cookie sales. The scouts were happy to see their idea come to fruition on May 13, with the donation of the playground equipment, complete with a lockable storage bin to each of the schools.
The donation included various playground balls, jump ropes, giant yard “Jenga” or a huge “Connect 4”, and sidewalk chalk.
The community made this possible with the purchase Girl Scout cookies.
