Grange Members Continue Community Service Projects

The members of Grange #44 (the Historical Building at the corner of Pillsbury and Mammoth Road), carry on with community service projects while raising funds to replace the entire roof of the building. They recently joined the vendors at the Blues Festival on the Town Common Aug. 25th. This was the second year Grangers actively supported the veterans. Last year, they gave a monetary donation. At the suggestion of the organizer; this year the Grange purchased and delivered pizza for the members of all the bands to enjoy in between sets.

Their next project is this Saturday, Sept. 8 and Sunday, Sept. 9. The Fourth Annual “Mums For Meals” fundraiser. Purchase high quality, locally grown Mums to get a head start on your fall plantings while supporting a great cause. (100% of the proceeds go to the NH Foodbank) They hope to exceed last year’s sales. In addition, the Grange offers a convenient drop off spot during the sale; for non-perishable foods which they will deliver directly to the Food Bank. As they charter Boy Scout Troop 521; there will be scouts on hand to help out.

In addition, there will be Grange members available with shingles to purchase and Donors will be encouraged to autograph a starter shingle for each bundle; with proceeds earmarked for the “Raise the Roof” campaign. The goal is lofty…they need to raise $20,000 to replace the roof as required by “NH Register of Historical Buildings” standards. One bundle of 28 shingles goes for a donation of $30. Donations of any amount will be gladly accepted. Cash or checks are acceptable. If you would prefer to Mail your donation; Checks should be made payable to: Londonderry Grange #44, addressed 260 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH, 03053-3003.
