Labor Day Water Main Break Leaves Many Residents Dry

The Londonderry Times received a number of calls on Labor Day regarding a shutdown of their water supply starting on Pillsbury Road.
Residents reported losing their water service in the early part of Monday, Sept. 6.
In a release issued by the Pennichuck Water Company on Monday, Sept. 6, they identified a leak at the location of 67 Pillsbury and shut water off in order to complete the repairs of the water line.

This was identified as an Emergency Water Main Repair at the location of Pillsbury Road.
Pennichuck approximated the Time of Shutdown to be about 10:30 a.m. and they expected to restore the line at 3:30 p.m.
A rather large portion of the town that receives water through theses lines were impacted by the water main break.
The streets impacted were listed as: Pillsbury Road; Willow Lane; Anderson Lane; Hardy Road; Wallace Circle; Gilcreast Road; Sugarplum Lane; Spring Road; Bittersweet Lane; Wedgewood Drive; Gordon Drive; Judy Drive; Hovey Road; and Michels Way.
According to Pennichuck, customers were notified of the problem through Door-to-Door contact, Verbal/Door Hangers, and automated phone calls.
There were 46 Water Hydrants Out-of-Service during the morning and afternoon.
The hydrants were located on Pillsbury Road, Willow Lane, Anderson Lane, Hardy Road, Wallace Circle, Gilcreast Road, Sugarplum Lane, Spring Road, Bittersweet Lane, Wedgewood Drive, Gordon Drive, Judy Drive, Hovey Road and Michels Way.
