The Londonderry High School girls’ volleyball team were able to rattle off three impressive match wins over the past week and boost their season record up to 7-3.
With that stretch of victories, senior Kelsey Sanborn was able hit a personal milestone with her 500th carreer kill as a Lancer player.
In the team’s first game of the week, after coming off the tough 3-1 loss to Pinkerton Academy in the annual Mack Plaque game, the Lady Lancers hosted a winless Manchester Memorial team on Monday night, Sept. 27, and swept that team in three straight games.
Sanborn had five aces and two kills and junior Lacey Turner added three aces and three kills.
Lancer junior Madi Saucier was good for four kills and senior Abby Woodruff put up three kills.
Junior Bella Elguezabal added four aces in the win.
With that victory, the Lady Lancers moved to 5-3 on the season.
Two days later, the Londonderry team traveled to Nashua to face the Lady Titans of Nashua North High School (1-6).
In that match, the LHS battled through five, hard-fought games to come away with their sixth victory of the year.
Sanborn got a total of 11 kills and three aces, and in doing so, reached her 500th career kill.
Junior Lexi Small contributed 22 assists, nine digs, four kills and three aces in the win.
Saucier had nine kills and four blocks in the five sets.
The week ended with another convincing win when the team hosted the Goffstown Lady Grizzlies (5-4) and beat that team in four sets 3-1.
Sanborn had another great night with 15 kills, eight digs and two blocks at the net.
Lancer senior Laura Haas managed 12 digs and two aces and junior Bella Elguezabal tallied five aces and seven digs.
Senior Abby Sakellar contributed seven digs with three aces and junior Lexi Small had 24 assists, three aces and five digs in the match.
The Lady Lancers were scheduled to have another three-match week this.
Starting on Monday at Bishop Guertin (6-3) on Monday, two days later they will host Concord High School (6-4) and then on Friday they will travel to the seacoast for a match with Portsmouth (7-4).
