The Londonderry High School 2024 Boys’ Tennis team were recently awarded three individual All-State Awards for their productive spring season.
This is the first year that the New Hampshire Tennis Coaches Council was formed and helped drive All-State Awards nominations and selections.
The Lancers selected for state honors are Neel Chakravarthy and Aidan Board, who were both given Division I, First Team All-State honors.
The Division I Coach of the Year award went to Alex Burbine and Tyler Palmieri.
This was Burine’s second year as head coach, last year he shared duties with longtime coach and teacher, Roberta Davis.
The Londonderry team has been in a rebuilding mode since 2020 and went from 1-13 in 2022 and 2-12 in 2023 to 11-5 in 2024.
This year’s squad was able to make it further in the playoffs than any LHS team in the past decade.
Neel Chakravarthy went 10-3 in singles as the #1 Lancers player. He also went 10-3 in doubles with his teammate Board.
Board, at the #3 spot in the lineup, finished the 2024 season at 10-4. In 2023, Board went 7-3 at the #2 spot and 1-3 in the #1 position.
According to Burbine, “Almost all of the starting players are returning next year, with another incredibly deep ladder that will allow room for the guys 5-8 – Evan Fortin, Tiege Broadhurst, Mason Lindholm, Charlie Bowersox, and Sam Barry, to compete with each other for the last two spots and push the whole level, while Chakravarthy, Jayden Wu, Connnor Lord, and Logan Hunt will push from the top of the lineup as well.”
