The Londonderry High School Varsity Boys’ Varsity Volleyball squad continued to impress fans this week with a 3-2 win over Hollis-Brookline, the defending state champions, on Monday night, May 16.
The win put them in sole possession of first place in the Division I standings and sets them up to be the number one seed in the upcoming NHIAA State Championship.

Leading up to that game on Monday, the Lancers beat Goffstown and Souhegan High Schools last week, giving the Lancers an 11-0 record heading into the final stretch of the season.
The LHS squad came away with their ninth victory in a close match against the Grizzlies at Goffstown High School.
The Lancers took the first set 26-24; lost the second 22-25; won the third 25-22; and the fourth set 25-21.
Tyler Brown had 14 assists, 7 kills, and 2 aces; Cam Normand got 2 digs, 15 assists, and 9 kills; Spencer Brassard had 2 digs and 9 kills; Matt Doyle finished with 37 digs and an ace; Owen Evans got 2 digs, 12 assists, and 3 kills; Victor Elguezabal had 5 digs; Trevor Edmunds got 6 kills and 2 blocks; Colin Ness had 10 kills, 2 ace, 1 dig, and 1 assist; Ethan Munro contributed 7 kills, 5 digs, and 1 ace; Brady Joncas had 11 digs; Kyle Rondeau got 1 dig, 1 kill, and 2 blocks; and Crosby Nolan added 1 dig and 1 kill.
In the team’s home 3-1 win over Souhegan, on Wednesday, May 10, Set 1 went to Londonderry 25-22; the Lancers won the second set 25-19; the Red Raiders had a 27-25 victory in the third set; and LHS finished with a 25-12 win in the final set.
Brassard had 15 kills, 1 block, and 3 digs; Elguezabal got 3 kills, 1 block, and 10 digs; Edmunds got 8 kills; Ness had 5 kills and 1 dig; Brown added 7 kills, 2 blocks, 22 assists, 9 aces, and 14 digs; Normand got 8 kills, 19 assists, 2 aces, and 4 digs; Doyle finished with 3 assists, 1 ace, 26 digs; Evans had 5 digs; and Joncas got 7 digs.
