Lancer Wrestlers See Some Success on Home Mats

The Londonderry High School’s Wrestling team started with a bit of slow start, but the second week of the season had a number of very impressive wins.
In the team’s first home dual meet of the winter season, the Lancers had the reigning Division I State Champions to contend with and wound up just one pin shy of a draw against the Timberlane Regional High School Owls on Wednesday, December 14.
In the close, 36-30 loss, Londonderry had three matches won by pins, two by point decisions, and two by forfeits. The Lancers had one weight given up in a forfeit.
Lancer winners were:
At 132 lbs., Nicolas D`Alessandro had the LHS team’s first pin over Joey Consalvo.
Emanuel Perez was able to get the Lancers second pin of the evening at 145 lbs. over Jacob Morrissey.
In the third fall-win of the night, David Pento was victorious over Tucker Hadwin at 152 lbs.
At 160 lbs., Michael Palma (LHS) got a 10-4 decision win over Kyle Linblad, followed by Patrick O’Connor (LHS) getting a close 4-3 victory over Spencer Sierra at 170lbs. (TIRE) (Dec 4-3)
The final six, Lancer points of the evening went to 182-pounder, Owen Rondeau, with a forfeit win.
Over the weekend, the Lancers hosted their annual Holiday Tournament, where the team was able to take third place with 145.5-points. The Tournament winner, from Colchester High School in Vermont, finished with 201-points. The Andover, Mass. squad took second place with 189-points.
In the home tourney, Londonderry had four wrestlers take first place.
D’Alessandro got a hard-fought 15-1 major decision over Souhegan’s Logan Brown at 132-pounds for first.
At 145 lbs., Palmer toughed out a 4-3 victory over Matt Conant, of Lincoln, VT, for first-place.
Pento was also able to take home a weight-class win at 152lbs with a pin at 3:27 in his final bout of the day. He beat Jordon Lavoie of Colchester.
Patrick O’Connor had Londonderry’s final first-place win of the day with a 10-4 decision in the 170 lbs. weight over his Colchester competitor, Brody Coppins.
Other notables were: Manny Perez, taking third at 145 lbs; Owen Rondeau, third in the 182 lbs. weight; Christopher Gear, getting third at 220 lbs. and Brandon Egan taking fourth at 132 lbs.
