The Londonderry High School Boys’ Basketball team had two solid road wins to start the winter season, but dropped their home opener last week.
Both victories came on the road, one in the first week of the season, followed by a loss at home on Tuesday, Dec. 16, to the Exeter Blue Hawks, where the Lancers were never able mount much of an offensive threat.

Londonderry’s scoring woes began in the first quarter of the game, putting in just two baskets and trailed the Blue Hawks 9-4.
The Lancers were able to tighten the contest up in the second period, outscoring their opponents 9-6, to trail 13-15 heading into the locker room at halftime.
The troubles at the basket continued for both sides in the third period, with Londonderry scoring just 10-points and Exeter getting 12.
With just a combined 28-points scored by halftime, it was still anyone’s game going into the final quarter, but that’s where the Blue Hawks were able to bust out of their funk and tally 24-points, leaving Londonderry behind. The Lancers tallied half as many points in the fourth for the 35-51 loss.
Nathan Mbuyi was the only LHS player to hit double digits, leading the Lancers in scoring with 10. Ben Sakellar and Garrett Nahlik both finished with six and Casey Marsh had four-points in the tough loss.
Putting those scoring woes behind them in game three of the season, the Lancers had a much better result at Manchester Memorial High School on Thursday, Dec. 18.
The Lancers were able to put up double-digit scores in each of the four quarters and lock in a 58-46 victory over the Crusaders, handing that team their third straight loss.
Davis Magarian led his team with 15-points, getting five baskets and going five of six at the foul line.
Casey Marsh finished with 11-points, Nahlik tallied 10-points and Evan Vago and Sakellar both had seven in the win.
