Lancers Cheer Team Take Fifth in DI Championship

The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Fall Spirit Championship was held at Pinkerton Academy on Sunday, Nov. 10, with 17 Division I teams competing for the state title.
The Londonderry High School Cheerleading squad was able to secure a fifth-place finish with a score of 90.1, just behind the Alvirne Broncos squad who finished with a 93.5.

The Dover High School Green Wave was able to put a stop to the Pinkerton Academy Astros three-year streak as state champions, also ending their three-year streak of taking second place.
Dover scored a 102.1 over the Astros 96.4, with the Salem Blue Devils taking third at 94.1.
Head coach, Michelle Sharp, was happy with the outcome, saying after the results were announced, “We are so proud of a fifth place finish! We competed three different times this season, and at each of those competitions, we put out a different routine. We applied the feedback from the first two events to put ourselves in the best position we could for States, and every routine we performed was better than the one before it. Seeing the season culminate with the best routine our athletes have put out so far was a victory for us and a sure sign of a successful season!”
