The Londonderry High School Girls’ Basketball team began its 2025-26 campaign with a very strong performance against the Winnacunnet Warriors on Friday night, Dec. 9.
The Lady Lancers began the winter season with a lop-sided victory, nearly doubling the Warriors efforts, with a 65-28 win, due in large part to the shooting by three players. Seniors Samantha Sullivan, Brooke Eacrett and junior Gemma Murray accounted for 56 of the 65-points.
This year also will feature a bit of Londonderry basketball royalty on the bench.

Lancers scoring legend Stephanie Murphy has offered her leadership skills and services to the coaching staff this season and will be assisting with the team’s quest for a state title.
Last year’s season ended one game short of that title, falling 50-44 to the Bedford Bulldogs at the University of New Hampshire in the State Championship after going 20-1 and earning the number two seed in the tournament.
The team’s only losses last season were delivered by the Lady Bulldogs, a 53-60 defeat at the end of the regular season and the 14-point championship loss.
In the Friday night game, at home, the Lancers played to a rather large crowd and the home fans had plenty to cheer from the start.
Londonderry led 21-8 to open up the first quarter with a 13-point lead and never looked back.
The Lancers outscored the Warriors 11-4 in the second period and went into the locker room with a 20-point lead at 32-12.
The trend continued in the third period with Londonderry doubling up their seacoast opponents 18-9 to tally a 50-21 lead heading into the final quarter.
Londonderry finished up by outscoring WHS 15-7 for the 37-point victory.
The senior Sullivan, who recently signed her Letter of Intent to play basketball at Bryant University after graduation, led her team in scoring with 25-points.
Sullivan had nine, two-point buckets, one three-pointer and went 4-6 at the foul line.
Eacrett contributed 20-points in the win, most of which were outside the arc.
The senior forward had four three-pointers, one bucket and was 6-6 at the line.
The only other Lancer hitting double digits was Murray, who came away with 11-points on five baskets and one free-throw.
The team will finish the year with three straight road games.
On Tuesday they traveled to Exeter High School, followed by a contest with the Bishop Guertin Cardinals in Nashua.
The 2025 portion of the season ends on Saturday, Dec. 20, playing an out of conference game against Wachusett.
