The Londonderry High School girls’ lacrosse team closed out a competitive regular season with a 9-7 record, earning the No. 6 seed in the Division I tournament and setting up a highly anticipated quarterfinal matchup with No. 3 Pinkerton Academy on Thursday, June 4.

The Lancers enter the postseason confident and battle-tested, having lost five games this season by two goals or fewer. Among those was a narrow 8-7 defeat to Pinkerton earlier in the year-fueling excitement for a second chance against the Astros with a semifinal berth on the line.
Londonderry showed its resilience down the stretch, competing closely with some of the top teams in the state. On Senior Night, the Lancers dropped a hard-fought 8-6 decision to Winnacunnet, a Division II powerhouse that has claimed victories over several top Division I programs this season.
The game was played on the Lancers football field and senior Lily Ciarametaro led the offense in that contest with two goals, while Eres Delorey added a goal and an assist. Annabelle Melia, Cora Rogers, and Addison Doyle each contributed a goal in the tight loss.
Earlier in the week, the Lancers pushed No. 2 Souhegan to the brink before falling 8-6 in another close matchup. Delorey paced the effort with two goals and controlled four draws, while Melia added two goals of her own. Cora Rogers and Molly Connors also found the back of the net, and goaltender Abby Cook turned in a standout performance with 11 saves.
Londonderry’s offense was on full display in a dominant 20-3 win over Concord, showcasing the team’s depth and scoring balance. Melia led the way with four goals and three assists, while Summer Butler added four goals and an assist. Delorey and Rogers each netted three goals, with Rogers also tallying two assists. Doyle chipped in two goals, and Connors, Ciarametaro, Madison Grennon, and Mel Kowack each scored once.
Defensively, junior Molly Leone has anchored the Lancers all season, emerging as a leader on the field. Leone, who is committed to continue her career at the University of New Hampshire, will play a key role in slowing down Pinkerton’s attack in the playoff matchup.
With a strong mix of senior leadership, offensive firepower, and defensive consistency, the Lancers head into Thursday’s quarterfinal eager for redemption and ready to prove they can compete with the best in Division I.
