The Londonderry High School Softball squad finished last week with a 13-0 record heading into the final stages of a very wet regular season. The team would have tallied a fourth win, but rain forced a postponement before the fifth inning.


During the team’s three-game stretch, Londonderry pitchers stuck out a staggering 50-batters, walked just four and allowed two hits and zero runs.
During those games, the Lancers bats were able to tally 24 unanswered runs.
On Monday, May 12, at Exeter High School, Londonderry beat the Blue Hawks 10-0 with Elizabeth Kearney allowing just one hit over seven innings, while striking out 18 batters.
Lancer runs came in all but two innings, starting in the first with one, followed by three in both the second and third.
Shortstop, Alison Chambers, was four-for-five at the plate with three RBIs and Jen Raza went three-for-four with one RBI. Both girls had two doubles along with Abby Austen, Addison Martinez and Sadie Moore, who each had one double.
Kearney was two-for five at the plate with three RBIs.
Overall the team had 16-hits and struck out just three times in the game.
Solid hitting and pitching led to another lopsided win the following day at home against Manchester Memorial/ Central.
The Lancers had five-run inning in the second and fifth for the 11-0 victory.
Austen got the start and the win in the circle, pitching six innings, giving up just one run while striking out 12 and walking two.
Allyson Burgess pitched one inning in relief, striking out two and allowing one hit.
Ginny Flaherty went three-for-four with two RBIs, while Mady Normand was two-for-three with two RBIs.
Kearney, playing third, and Shannon Crowley both had doubles in the victory, with Kearney getting two hits and two RBIs.
On Wednesday, May 14, at home, Londonderry secured their 13th win of the season with a 3-0 blanking of the Dover Green Wave.
Kearney pitched another gem, going seven innings and striking out another 18-batters, while walking two.
Austen and Riley Campo each had two hits and one RBI.
Austen Flaherty and Raza each had doubles, with Londonderry getting seven hits.
On Thursday, May 15, at Bishop Guertin, a 10-2 Lancers lead had to be put on hold in the fourth inning, due to heavy rain.
The final few innings are expected to continue this Thursday, but rain was forecasted.
