Lancers Swim Teams Get Hit by Illness at Last Meet

The Londonderry High School Boys and Girls Swim Team competed in their final meet of the regular season last week, but because of an overwhelming amount of illnesses did not fare very well.

The Lancers girls fell to Pinkerton Academy 98-52 and lost to St. Thomas Aquinas High School 73 to 45.

The Lancers males were the hardest it by illness and didn’t compete in any of the relays. The team has been very strong in relays this year.

GIRLS
In the 200-Yard Medley Relay, the team of Ali Von Pichl, Kyra Courtmanche, Lexi Apholz and Catilyn Bailey finished in third place with a time of 2:16.68.

In the 200-yard Freestyle, Courtmanche took fourth with a 2:19.15.

In the 50-Yard Freestyle, Londonderry had Apholz take first place with a time of 27.28 and Arianna Fennessey finish in eighth (36.09).

In the 100-Yard Freestyle, Bailey was fourth with a time of 1:16.89.

Apholz took second in the 500-Yard Freestyle again this week with a time of 6:06.69.

The team of Apholz, Von Pichl, Fennessey and Courtmanche were second in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:04.41.

In the 100-yard Backstroke Von Pichl finished in fourth place with a 1:17.82.

In the 100-Yard Breaststroke Courtmanche got second place with a time of 1:22.06.

BOYS
The boys didn’t compete until the eighth event of the evening due to the number of swimmers out sick that evening, but in the 50-Yard Freestyle, Londonderry had Slate Branson finish in fifth place with a time of 26.32.

Slate finished in first place in the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 58.01. Caleb Howard was third with a time of 1:05.23.

Howard also placed well in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with his time of 1:22.91, finishing fourth.
