The Londonderry High School Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field teams turned in a strong early-season performance in a tri-meet against Salem and Pinkerton Academy, highlighted by several top finishes across multiple events.
Both Lancer teams finished in first place, with the boys’ winning with 72-points over the Astros with 62-points and the Blue devils with 23-points.
The Lady Lancers scored 87.83-points, beating Pinkerton (52.16) and Salem (23).
LHS Boys Results
In the 100-meter, freshman Jackson Rao took first with a time of 11.95, edging out Salem and PA at 12:06 and 12:08.
Rao excelled in the 200-meter also, finishing at 24.38 for first, a half-second ahead of PA. Senior Lucas Palma finished in third at 25.75.
In the 400-meter, junior Finn McDonald crossed the line first at 54.48 with senior Josh Twomey taking second at 54.98. Senior Cash Robles finished in third with a time of 57.53.
Senior Carson Fitzgerald had a time of 2:15.99 in the 800-meter, good for third, and sophomore Patrick Ramsey took fourth at 2:17.39.
In the 1,600-meter, Ramsey had a second-place finish with a time 4:59.62 and Fitzgerald took fourth at 5:00.52.
The Lancers 4×100-meter Relay team of junior Jake Cervantes, Palma, sophomore John Vaccaro and Rao took first at 46.89.
In the 4×400-meter Relay, the team of junior Finn McDonald, senior Josh Twomey, senior Jack DiBuono and Fitzgerald finished at second with a time of 3:48.15.
On the field, in High Jump, junior Devin VanAvery was first with a height of 5’8”.
In the Long Jump, junior Devin VanAvery went 17’9” for second-place, with junior Tommy Zyra taking third at 17’7”.
In the Triple Jump, first-place went to sophomore John Vaccaro, who went 33’10.5”. Sophomore Will Taylor took second at 33’6” and sophomore Tommy Machnik was third at 30’5”.
In Discus, junior Aidan Donovan had a throw of 115’5” for second place.
Lancers Girls Results
Junior Lillian Barud was first in the 100-meter with a time of 13.64. Sophomore Alexia Mbuyi came in at third (14.01), junior Shaneda Jackson was fourth (14.18) and junior Sharon Jackson was fifth at 14:33.
In the 200-meter, first went to freshman Lillian Paris at 28.43, followed by junior Lillian Barud in second at 29.16. Junior Lianna Agri was fourth (30.17) and Mbuyi was fifth (30.23).
Senior Ella DiBuono had a time of 1:09.35 in the 400-meter for second-place and sophomore Anna Laufersweiler took third at 1:11.75.
Senior Drewanne Sherman took first in the 800-meter with her time of 2:44.94. Sophomore Nora Proulx followed closely at second with her time of 2:55.77.
In the 1,600-meter, sophomore Stella Dutton finished at 6:20.95, good for third, with senior Drewanne Sherman taking fourth at 6:21.33.
In the 100-meter Hurdles. Freshman Lillian Paris finished in first at 17.67.
Londonderry’s 4×100-meter Relay team of junior Shaneda Jackson, Barud, Paris and sophomore Jess Doherty got first with a time of 53.64.
Sophomore Arianna White took first in the High Jump with her height of 4’11”.
In the Pole Vault, sophomore Morgan Ayotte finished at 7’6” for second-place.
In the Long Jump, junior Ava Hatchell was first at 14’7”, senior Alex Pena took second at 13’10” and sophomore Taylor Caron finished at 12’6” for fourth.
Pena took first-place in the Triple Jump, finishing at 30’8”. Junior Julia Morrison was second at 28’4.5” and junior Shaneda Jackson was third at 27’7”.
In the Shot Put, sophomore Sharon Jackson placed fourth at 24’.5” and in Discus, sophomore Charlotte Rolfe was fourth at 69’1”.
The team will host its first home meet on Tuesday, April 21, starting at 4 p.m.
