Lancers Track Team Sets New 4×100 School Record

The Londonderry High School Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field teams saw some success this week at the Merrimack Invitational with the boys’ 4×100-Meter Relay team breaking a 26-year record.
At the meet on Thursday, May 15, the Lancers had a number of students place, giving the boys an eighth-place finish and the girls getting 12th.
The boys’ 4×100-Meter Relay team of seniors Jon Inglese, Luc Gaudet, Chase Burris, and Griffin Massahos placing second and established a new school record at the event with a time of 42.72 seconds to break the 1999 record of 43.29 by over half a second.
Also placing for the boys’:
In the Long Jump, Luc Gaudet took first-place with his jump of 20’9”. Senior Chase Burris took fifth at 20’1”.
Griffin Massahos had a fifth-place finish in the 200-Meter Dash.
Junior Josh Twomey took fourth in the 800-Meter Run.
Junior Carson Firzgerald had a fourth-place finish in the 3,200-Meter Run.
Senior Arnold Kasongo had a High Jump of 5’8” and tied for fourth.
For the girls’ team, three athletes had top-six finishers at the event.
Junior Drewanne Sherman finished third in the 800-Meter Run.
Senior Sade White had a sixth-place finish in the 1,600-Meter Run.
Senior Linsey Gregoire was fourth in the High Jump, at 4’10”.
