Lancers Varsity Spirit Squad Take Fourth at State Championship

The Londonderry High School Varsity Cheerleading team was able to perform well enough to place fourth out of 16 teams during Sunday’s NHIAA Division I Championships.

The Astros were able to edge out the team from Dover High School to take their second straight title and its tenth DI Fall Championship since 2012.
Pinkerton Academy hosted the event on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 6, on what turned out to be some fairly muggy conditions inside the Hackler Gymnasium.
Out of the 16 Division I schools taking the mat that day, less than 10-points separated the top four teams and less than a single point was the difference between the top two squads.
The Astros scored 100.9 for the title, with the Green Wave getting an even 100. Salem High School finished in third with 95-points and Londonderry High School was fourth with 91.2.
This was the first state championship for new head coach, Kendall Wiedenfeld. She was assisted by Juliana Maitano and Julia Thorpe.
Members of the team include seniors: Sarah Abladian; Mackenzie Bodkin; Kennedy Brown; Madison Gheris; Isabell Roy; and Haley Buonomo. Juniors: Isabella Chick; Katie Grassis; Brenna Langley; Angelina Mochrie; Emily Ouellette; Madison Wholley; and Hailey Sibley. Sophomores: Alivia Chretien; Isabella Martinez; Briannah Rosario; and Eva Sesin. Freshman: Alexia Gorgopolois and Annabelle Hicks.
