LHS Baseball Squad Beat Warriors in Home Opener

The Londonderry High School Baseball squad had a very productive start to their 2023 season, beating the Winnacunnet High School squad 8-0 in the Monday, April 10, home opener.
The Lancers managed to force the Warriors starting pitcher off the mound by the fifth inning, scoring three in that inning.


The first Lancer to cross the plate this season was Brett McKinnon, who got on base with a single to center field and then stole two bases in third inning. McKinnon was then driven in by Owen Carey, with a looper to left. Carey was able to move to third with a steal and was brought in with a sac fly to right by Johan Pena.
Londonderry senior, Connor Fennell, was the starting pitcher and got the win pitching six innings, striking out nine batters and giving up four hits and two walks.
Junior Ryan Williams was the relief pitcher and had one strikeout, one walk, and one hit.
Carey led the offense with three RBIs. Pena and Liam Stott both had two RBIs in the win.
The 2023 varsity starters this season are: Brady Anderson, Joseph Cafaro, Owen Carey, Michael Crowley, Connor Fennell, Drew Fuller, Brady Gillis, Jayden Hamilton, Drew Heenan, Jet Jones, Brett McKinnon, Tyler Miles, Colin Parent, Johan Pena, Kevin Rourke, Liam Stott, Ryan Williams, and Jonathan Wilson
The Lancers next home game is scheduled for Friday, April 21, at 4 p.m. against Trinity
