LHS Skiing Duo Competes Against State’s Best at Meets of Champions

Two Londonderry High skiing stalwarts tested their considerable skills and mettle against the very best high school competition New Hampshire has to offer at the Meet of Champions at the Mittersill Ski Area on Cannon Mountain last Thursday, March 1.

Lady Lancers Breyton Evarts and Jordan Galluzzo both had moments of which they could be proud out on the almost balmy slopes that day. The competitors worked the slopes in sunny, relatively warm, and wind-free conditions.

Evarts and Galluzzo had both played vital roles in helping their LHS girls’ contingent to a strong fifth place finish at the Division I state championships several weeks before.

At the Meet of Champs, Evarts finished 10th overall out of 54 competitors, ending up a superb sixth in the giant slalom and 14th in the slalom. Galluzzo ended up 35th overall, getting 31st in the giant slalom and 27th in the slalom.
