The Londonderry High boy swimmers tallied a record of 3-1 and the Lady Lancers went 2-2 in their final 2016 meets in their own pool on the evening of Thursday, Dec. 22.
The Lancer males tallied no less than eight top-three performances in defeating Campbell of Litchfield by a commanding score of 131-18, Alvirne of Hudson by a lopsided margin of 111-55, and Merrimack by a 113-49 tally that night. The lone team to beat Londonderry was the Dover High Green Wave group (108-60).
Second place finishes were bagged by Nick Byrne in the 500-yard freestyle, Minsoo Kim in the 100-yard breaststroke, and the Lancers’ 400-yard freestyle relay and 200 medley relay quartets.
Third places were collected by Jack Stuart in both the 50 free and the 100-yard butterfly, Byrne in the 200 individual medley, and the Londonderry 200 free relay team.
In the girls’ action, the Lady Lancers defeated Campbell (132-12) and Merrimack (90-79) but were bested by both Alvirne (90-80) and Dover (106-64) in going 2-2 on the night.
The locals received a win from Anna Gruchot in the 100-yard freestyle (time of 58.29 seconds) and second places from Madison Martin in the 500 free and their 200 free relay quartet.
The Londonderry High teams will begin the 2017 segment of their 2016-17 campaigns on Thursday, Jan. 5 with a road meet at the Goffstown YMCA against multiple opponents.
