According to the Londonderry Department of Public Works (DPW), reconstruction of a section of Litchfield Road is set to begin in July and continue through September. The work will focus on a stretch of Litchfield Road from Misty Lane to High Range Road and will require the periodic closure of the road to through traffic.
When the road is closed, motorists will be directed from High Range to Hall Road north to Mammoth Road and south to Litchfield, east of the construction site.
To the south, motorists will be detoured south along High Range Road to Shasta Drive to Mammoth Road, then north to Litchfield. According to Londonderry Public Works Director and Engineer Janusz Czyzowski, the work will continue what was done on the previous section of Litchfield Road last year, including lining, paving, adding curbs and drainage work.
The work will begin after July 4. Questions regarding the project and detours should be directed to the DPW at 432-1100, ext. 193.
