LMS Softball Crew Powers Its Way to Another Championship

The Londonderry Middle School’s Class M softball squad flattened all of its opposition in repeating as the Division 5 champion.

Veteran coach Joppa Frasch’s LMS contingent mowed over its opponents in every one of its eight regular season contests, and then bested each of its two playoff opponents recently in maintaining its status at the top of the Division 5 mountain.

In the championship game against the arch-rival Timberlane troupe from Plaistow, Londonderry had little trouble of disposing of that opponent in a 17-4 blowout.

Highly-skilled sixth-grader Lauren Laudani pitched every game for the locals and only gave up 22 total runs while her teammates supported her with an incredible 160 runs on the way to their undefeated season.  Laudani’s fellow talented sixth-graders Emily Goldberg and Maggie Edwards were solid behind the plate in taking turns catching for the hurler.

Sydney Rankin, Shannon Hynde, Maddie Saucier, Sarah Peckham, and Riley Burns were all very solid with their bats and in the field for the champs, while the rest of the team contributed greatly toward a repeat of the LMS squad’s 2016 title success.

Along with the aforementioned players, the squad’s roster included Michaela Bartholomew, Bela Jarek, Riley Walter, Abby Sakellar, Sage Matzker, Erin Moloney, and Bridget Myron.

With the Londonderry High School softball program having strong season after strong season, it looks like having strong talent coming up from the middle school like the players on this team will likely continue that.
