Londonderry was first to get on the board after a lead off triple to center field by Brett McKinnon and he was batted in by Jet Jones on a fly ball to right field. Exeter came back in the fourth and sixth innings, scoring one in each of those innings, taking a 2-1 lead heading into the seventh inning. In the bottom of the seventh, the Lancers tied it up thanks to a lead off double by Ty Miles, a walk by Devin Boles, and a walk by Owen Carey.
The Lancers had Brady Gillis as the starting pitcher, who struck out seven, walked two, and gave up two runs on three hits. Ryan Williams came in as relief for two scoreless innings. The only other double in the game was hit by Carey.
Two days later, facing the Timberlane Owls in another home game, the Lancers won 3-0 behind a very strong pitching performance by Joey Cafaro. Cafaro pitched seven strong innings, striking out nine batters, giving up one hit, and one walk. Londonderry had one run innings in the first, third, and sixth in the victory.
Mason DeVall had the only extra base hit in the game by the Lancers, leading off the third inning with a double. Carey and Jones each had RBIs, and McKinnon went 2 for 2.
In Londonderry’s final game of the second week of the season, they traveled to Manchester to face the Trinity Pioneers and battled for a 4-3 win. LHS scored early with two runs in the first and another in the second, leading 3-1 through four innings. Boles notched the win on the mound as the starter for the Lancers pitching five innings, striking out 10, walking four, and only two runs in. DeVall went 2 for 3 at the plate, and Jones had the only extra base hit of the game with a double in the first inning for an RBI.
Londonderry batters only needed four hits in the game, walking nine times, and being struck out 10.
LHS had three games lined up for April vacation, traveling to Bedford on Monday, staying home to face Keene on Tuesday, and finishing up the week at Concord on Wednesday, April 24.
