The Londonderry High School Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country teams competed in two meets to start the fall season, with the boys’ placing second in both and the girls taking fourth and eighth.
At the Bobcat Invitational, on Sept. 6, the boys scored a 75, taking second behind Pinkerton Academy at 37-points.
The Lancer girls took fourth with 134-points behind Oyster River (44); Hopkinton (71); and Bedford (85).
Londonderry senior Carson Fitzgerald placed second at 16:38.8, about 25 seconds behind the winner William Trautz from Pinkerton.
Senior Josh Twoomy came in at 12th at 17:18.1; sophomore Patrick Ramsey was 13th with a time of 17:23.2; senior Jack Bibuono was 18th at 17:51.2; junior Mason Hernandez was 30th with 18:31.9; sophomore Alec Lemeris was 48th at 19.09.9; and junior Joey Gainey finished at 50th with 19:13.
For the girls’ team the Lancers had five runners placing.
Sophomore Anna Laufersweiler was 18th at 22:37.8; sophomore Stella Dutton took 22nd at 22:57.4; senior Ella Dibuono finished 25th at 23:02.2; junior Harper Labonte was 39th at 24:35.4; and sophomore Aylin Hand finished a 44th with a time of 25:07.3.
At the Nashua North Invtational, the Londonderry Boys team took second again and the girls came in at eighth.
Pinkerton once again took first, this time with a score of 28-points and LHS had a score of 70-points.
Fitzgerald placed second at 15:45.04, less than 10-seconds behind the winner Trainor Mailloux from PA.
Twoomy came in at seventh with a time of 16:07.78; Ramsey was 13th again, in this race he had a time of 16:25.36; Bibuono was 22nd at 17:07.03; Hernandez took 33rd with 17:27.53; Gainey finished at 65th with 18:11.58; and senior Cash Robles took 69th at 18:28.81.
Londonderry’s top girl runners were: Laufersweiler was 13th at 20:12.50; junior Harper LaBonte, 36th 24:54.61; Dutton took 41st at 22:08.90; DiBuono finished 42nd at 22:09.61; Aylin Hand finished a 44th with a time of 25:07.3.
