Londonderry Lightning 10U Take State Championship

The Londonderry Lightning 10U softball team recently earned the title of New Hampshire Babe Ruth Softball 10U State Champions. The win marks the Lightning team’s second consecutive state championship.
The New Hampshire Babe Ruth State Championship tournament was played the weekend of June 21 through the 23rd at the LAFA Field Complex in Londonderry.

Leading up to the championship game, the Londonderry team played three games in pool play, winning all three games, then played three games in single-elimination bracket play, again winning all three games.
A total of 15 teams from around the Granite State participated in the tournament.
The squad had to fight through rain and high heat conditions all weekend, going undefeated against some strong competition. Londonderry ultimately defeated the Dover Attack with a shutout victory of 7-0 and securing the state title.
The team’s pitching and defense were solid, but the bats were on fire, collecting a total of 50 hits and outscoring their opponents 66-9 overall on their path to victory.
The team is led by returning veteran players, Nora Daniels, Madeline Rivera, Hailey Raiche, and Madison Clement. Rounding out the team are Ava Folsom, Harper Carey, Layla LoPriore, Daniela DiCarlo, Molly Bacon, Sloan Smith, Brynn Lovell, and Emmalina Povio.
The team is coached by Brian Daniels, Erica Raiche, Steve LoPriore, Sam Carey, and Matt DiCarlo.
With such promising talent and determination at a young age, the future of the Londonderry softball program looks incredibly bright. Fans eagerly anticipate more successes and milestones from these young champions as they continue to grow and excel in the sport they love.
The Lightning has two other tournaments remaining this summer that are unrelated to winning state championship and hope to excel at those competitions also.
