Londonderry Runner Wins Boot Scootin’ Boogie 5K

The Enterprise Bank Boot Scootin’ Boogie 5K had well over 1,000 runners competing in this year’s race to end the Old Home Day festivities and Londonderry High School 2022 graduate, Will Plante, came away with the overall win.
Plante, who is 19 and a former track stand out for the Lancers, was one of nearly 200 hometown runners and won the race with a time of 17:01.8, a full minute over the second place finisher.
Mary Klene of Manchester was the third overall runner to cross the finish line and took first in the Women’s Division with an impressive time of 18:25.9.
Thomas Cook, 37, of Amherst was the second place finisher, coming in at 18.02.8.
Cory Rose, 35, of Centennial, CO, was fourth overall and came in third place for the males with a time of 18:29.2.
Branden McCoo of Concord had a finishing time of 18.29.9 for fourth overall, third for the males.
In the Women’s Division, Klene took first, Ashley Dennis, 26, of Manchester was second at 18:59.2 and 13th overall; and Liz Belanger, 32, of Hooksett was third with her 19:18 net time and was 21st overall.
Along with the winner Plante, other Londonderry males that placed in the top 50 were:
Matthew Anderson, 34, placed 12th overall (18:59.2); Chase Von Pichl, was 32nd (20:15.5); Samuel Erdtmann was 35th (20:23.7); Eric Ramsey was 45th (21:15.2); and Patrick Ramsey was 48th (21:20.4).
The top Londonderry women competing in the race were: Laura Zube, 45, was 82nd overall and third in her division (22.22.9); Mariana Nunley, 40, was 98th overall, third in her division, Katherine French, 33, was 120th overall and fourth in her division (23:55.5); Heidi Letalien, 58, 124th overall and fist in her division; Meghan O’Neill, 40, placed 154th overall and sixth in her division.
The 5K race began and ended at the LAFA Complex on Sargeant Road and after the race, participants and other attendees took part in a Brewfest that included beer sampling, food, a concert, and a bonfire.
