The Londonderry High School swim teams recently competed in a home meet that involved five other teams and a number of the Lancer swimmers finished with the fastest times.
The girl’s squad went head-to-head with four other teams, while the boys faced three on Friday night, Jan. 13.
The girls’ team won against Campbell and Concord High School, but fell to Bow and Merrimack, while the boys came up short against Concord, Bow, and Merrimack.
In the individual races for the Lady Lancers, the 200-Yard Medley Relay team of Caden Thomas, Kyra Courtemanche, Lexi Apholz, and Ali Von Pichl had a time of 2:15.65 and finished in second place behind Bow’s time of 2:08.22.
Londonderry’s best finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle was Leah Margaret Doherty at 3:22.45 and seventh place.
Ali Von Pichl had a time of 2:53.41 in the 200-Yard Individual Medley, for a third place finish in that event.
The Lancers had a one-two finish in the Girls 50-Yard Freestyle with Apholz, getting a time of 27.40 for first and Courtemanche finished in second at 28.36.
In the 100-Yard Freestyle, Apholz’s time of 59.88 was good for third place in that race.
Londonderry’s Von Pichl was four seconds faster than her nearest competitor in the 500-Yard Freestyle for a first place win at 6:41.13.
In the Girls 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Courtemanche, Thomas, Von Pichl, and Apholz finished with a time of 1:56.74 and took second place.
The 100-Yard Backstroke race had Thomas finishing with a time of 1:21.42 for seventh.
Courtemanche was able to get a second place finish in the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:19.44.
For the Lancer boys, which is a very much smaller team this year, Jimmy Cooper and Sam Munsey were the team’s only place finishers.
Cooper had a first place finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle with his time of 2:27.41. His winning time was 12-seconds faster than his nearest competitor.
Cooper had the third best time in the 500-Yard Freestyle, finishing with a time of 6:39.94.
Munsey finished the 100-Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:25.80 and was able to get a third place result.
