Londonderry Volleyball Opens with Four Straight Wins

The Londonderry High School volleyball team opened the spring season in dominant fashion, winning four straight matches while dropping just one set out of 13.

This year’s squad is loaded with experience, featuring 11 seniors and building off a 2025 season that saw the Lancers reach the Division I quarterfinals as the No. 6 seed.

Londonderry began the season on the road at Pinkerton Academy on Monday, April 13, defeating the Astros in straight sets, 25-18, 25-13 and 25-11.

Gavin Doughty led the way with 15 kills and an ace. Peter Pispitsos added nine kills, one assist, two blocks, one ace and a dig. Everett Vago finished with six kills, two blocks and an ace, while Ethan Saranich recorded five kills, two blocks, one ace and a dig. Theo Paccione dished out 29 assists to go with one block and one ace. Kai Hou contributed one kill, two blocks and six aces, and Gavin Richert added four assists and four digs.

Londonderry followed with another straight-set victory at Goffstown two days later, winning 25-20, 25-16 and 25-19.

Doughty again led the offense with 15 kills and four aces, while Paccione totaled 23 assists, one block and four aces. Pispitsos added three kills and three aces. Vago contributed four kills, one assist, four blocks and two aces. Saranich had five kills and three blocks, Hou chipped in one kill, four blocks and two aces, and Richert recorded one assist, one ace and three digs.

The Lancers earned their first home win on Friday, April 17, sweeping Winnacunnet 25-14, 25-14 and 25-12 in a match they controlled throughout.

Doughty finished with eight kills and two aces. Pispitsos added three kills and two aces, while Vago had four kills, four assists and four aces. Saranich contributed five kills, three blocks and one dig. Paccione totaled two kills and 23 assists, Hou had five kills and one ace, and Richert added two aces and one dig.

Londonderry closed out the week with a 3-1 win at Timberlane on Saturday. After dropping the opening set 25-22, the Lancers rebounded to win the next three sets, 25-21, 25-12 and 25-19.

Doughty delivered a standout performance with 26 kills. Pispitsos added five kills, one assist, three blocks and three aces. Vago had five kills and eight aces, while Saranich contributed 11 kills and three blocks. Paccione recorded three kills, 25 assists and one dig. Hou added two kills and two aces, Richert finished with one kill, five assists, one ace and 13 digs, Liam Evans contributed four kills, and Dylan Duggan had five blocks.

The Londonderry squad’s schedule continued with a road match at Salem (3-0) on Monday, April 20.

The Lancers will return home on Thursday to face Hollis-Brookline (1-1).
