Maple Weekend Brings Folks to Peterson Sugar House

Local families had the opportunity to experience how maple syrup is made in Londonderry as Peterson Farm opened its doors for Maple Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19. Eric Turcotte and Anne Peterson gave tours, explained the process and shared stories about the farm’s founder, Hank Peterson, who passed away in 2015. Families were also able to sample some of the maple syrup served on ice cream by local historian Ann Chiampa. Turcotte is breathing new life into the farm and making syrup by boiling sap from local maple trees in a recently upgraded evaporator.
