Marc Edward Sydney Poitras, 47, passed away suddenly on Friday, September 23rd, in his home. Born in Quebec City, PQ on October 9, 1968, he was educated at Petit Seminaire de Quebec, Essex Garneau de Quebec and Laval University, Quebec.
He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Holly M. Latulippe Poitras and their beloved son, 12 year old Camden. He is the son of Ruth Martin Poitras of Quebec and the late Claude Poitras. He is survived by his sister, Marie-Claude Poitras and her husband, Marco Ouellet as well as his brothers, Jean-Francois Poitras, Richard Poitras and his wife Chantale Hebert, all of Quebec, a brother-in-law Jody Latulippe and his spouse Jeanne Latulippe of Derry, NH and a sister-in-law, Shelly Latulippe Klimas and her spouse, Edwards Klimas of Mt. Pleasant, SC along with ten nieces and nephews.
Marc was a tour guide for Receptive Tours of Quebec when he met his future spouse, Holly Latulippe. They were married in 1996 in Hudson, NH. After their marriage, Marc moved to the United States and became an American Citizen. He was employed by Sherwin-Williams as a traveling representative and because he was bi-lingual he was assigned to their Canadian route. He later was employed by Blue Rhino and traveled throughout the Canadian Provinces including the Maritimes and Vancouver. He and Holly were former owners of Ray’s Marina in Milton, NH.
Marc was a member of the Hudson Lions Club. He was an avid tennis player and former instructor. He passed along this love to his son Camden, mentoring and encouraging him through countless matches and tournaments. Camden and Holly were foremost in Marc’s life. On Camden’s eleventh birthday, Marc and Holly surprised him with a trip to Disney World, a treasured memory. Marc loved preparing both every day and gourmet meals for his family and friends. He was passing his influence along to Camden who often helped prepare the evening meal. He was particularly close to his brother, Jean-Francois, with whom he shared many good times and much laughter.
Arrangements- There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude’s Church, 435 Mammoth Rd, Londonderry, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marc’s name to the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition (nhbcc.org).
