After being missing for more than 24 hours, an elderly Londonderry man was found safe and in good health in Quincy, Mass.
Jack Rattigan, 82, was last seen at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 25 and was located sometime around 7 p.m. Feb. 26.
After checking throughout the night he was missing at all the possible locations where they thought he could be, his family contacted police.
Rattigan left his home wearing only a grey, long-sleeved sweater with black slacks and winter boots. He wasn’t carrying a cell phone or credit cards, only a small amount of cash in a wallet.
He was driving a 2007 Silver Dodge Dakota pickup truck when he was involved in a minor car accident in Massachusetts, after which he was transported to an area hospital for a precautionary evaluation.
Rattigan was not injured and his family was notified he had been found safe, the Police Department was happy to announce on Feb. 26.
“At this time it is unknown why Mr. Rattigan was in Quincy or where he had been since going missing,” Det. Chris Olson said in a press release.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
