Nancy Wimmer

Nancy Lynn Wimmer of Londonderry died at her home, surrounded by her family, on Oct. 17, 2016. She was born in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park, Ill., on July 13, 1946, the daughter of Vernon and Marion Brown. She returned to college when her children were young and earned a Bachelor of Art Education from The Ohio State University. She worked at the Derry News for many years in the advertising department, where she leaves many close friends and colleagues. She loved the outdoors and traveling, particularly hiking in the White Mountains. She had hiked for two weeks in the Swiss Alps with a co-worker. She was a founding member of the Rhythm of New Hampshire Show Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International. She also loved singing with A Truth Be Told at the Londonderry Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Carl Wimmer; her son, Mark, and his wife, Karen; and their daughter, Amber; and daughter Kelley, her husband, Marc, and their son, Justin; a sister, Barbara Khant and her husband, Al, of Naperville, Ill.; brothers Dr. Stewart Jay Brown and his wife, Teri, of Edinburgh, Scotland, and David Marshall Brown of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was predeceased by a sister, Janice, and her husband, Ferdinand Fromholz, of Danville, Penn. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29 at Londonderry Presbyterian Church, 126 Pillsbury Road, Londonderry. The Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Londonderry Presbyterian Church.
