North School Principal Mary Coltin to Retire June 30

North School Principal Mary Coltin is retiring after 20 years in the Londonderry school district. Superintendent of Schools Nathan Greenberg said Coltin has been in education for 42 years as both a teacher and administrator.

“For the past 20 years she has been at North Londonderry Elementary School, serving as both the assistant principal and only the third principal in the school’s history,” Greenberg said. “In January of 2009 Mary was named New Hampshire Elementary School Assistant Principal of the Year, and she is just the complete and total educational leader.”

Greenberg said her knowledge of curriculum and instruction, child development and focus on children falls in the distinguished category.

“She has created along with the principal she served with and her present assistant principal a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children and a positive school culture that not only promotes educational excellence but growth and responsibility and caring on the part of children and faculty,” he added. “She will be sorely missed, and words cannot describe the gratitude and appreciation for all that Mary has done, not only at North School for the past 20 years but her contributions over the last 42 years in education for our great state.”

She retires at the end of the academic year, June 30.
