The Londonderry High School hosted the 36th annual Elementary School Cross Country Championship on Wednesday, Oct. 13 where the three Elementary Schools in town sent fifth grade running teams to compete for a yearly title.
In the boys’ race, the North School Bears took the title for the second straight year, and for the girls, the South School Hawks finished in first place, knocking off North, who had taken the title for two consecutive years.
The top ten finishers in the boys’ race were: Jackson Rao – North School at 6:58 who came in first; Jack Porter – North was second at 7:26; Crew Swenson – South, third, at 7:31; Elijah Zube – Matthew Thornton at 7:43; Caden Hartley – North at 7:44; Drew Dembkoski – Matthew Thornton at 7:59; Eli Parece-Grogan – South at 8:01; Caden Qualter – South at 8:13; Kingston Delmastro – Matthew Thornton at 8:15; and Braden Brown – North at 8:30.
In the girls race Bridget Quinlan – Matthew Thornton finished in first at 7:53. Mia Buco – South, was second at 8:18; Emerson Presher – South, was third 8:26; Ashley Hamilton – North at 8:36; Julia Lewis – Matthew Thornton at 8:44; Hayley Doyle – South at 8:54; Sawyer Butler – North at 8:56; Alicia Marini – Matthew Thornton at 9:23; Lillian Castles – South at 9:38; and Payton Ward – South at 9:44.
