Rene Belanger celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends over the weekend at his home on Chase Road. To say Rene has had a fruitful life would be a bit of an understatement. The tee shirt he wore to the party said it all. “God said, ‘Be fruitful and multiply’… so I did!”
Rene currently has 86 descendants. Nine children, 36 grand children, 34 great grand children, and seven great, great grand children.
Born on Aug. 30, 1923, Rene made his way to Londonderry about 50-years ago and lived on Rockingham Road before building his home on Chase Road.
His sister, Janet Nadeau, 95, traveled to the granite state from Massachusetts and helped celebrate her brother’s achievement of reaching the century mark.
