The process for selecting an assistant Town Manager for Londonderry is winding down, with a decision expected to be made by the first of the year.
Town Manager Kevin Smith said Monday that the Town Council has winnowed the 50 applicants to “a few finalists” and that a decision should be made by the end of this month.
Though the meeting was a nonpublic session, Smith did confirm that a Council meeting this past Saturday had to do with the selection process.
Smith said the position, which will combine assisting him with a Director of Personnel position, was advertised on the New Hampshire Municipal Association Web site and on the town Web site.
There were no internal candidates, Smith said.
The salary range is $75,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience.
