Sizzling LHS Boys’ Lax Squad Turfs Two More Teams

First-year coach Sean LeBlanc had his Londonderry High boys’ lacrosse squad right where he wanted it to be coming into this, the final week of the 2015 regular season.

LeBlanc’s Lancers rolled into this week – looking at one more regular season match against Salem on Wednesday, May 27, after Londonderry Times press time – having won 10 of their last 11 contests and eight straight in compiling an excellent 12-4 record in tough Division I.
The locals moved to 11-4 with consecutive win number seven at Manchester Memorial High Wednesday, May 20.

Londonderry hammered its struggling host by a 24-1 score, with Dave Wiedenfeld tallying seven points on five goals and two assists; Max Hastings scoring three times and assisting twice; Casey Park potting four goals; Tommy Cranmer and Shane Holland each scoring three times; Devin Brunet bagging two goals and two helpers; Pete Navarro tallying twice, and Andrew Mitchell and Lewis Carroll each tickling the twine once.

The LHS guys then claimed their eighth consecutive victory with a 16-9 trouncing of the Nashua South Purple Panthers in Londonderry the next day.

LeBlanc’s Lancers won every quarter but the fourth, tallying a 5-1 lead by the end of the first period, an 11-3 advantage by halftime, and a 14-5 lead rolling into the final period.

Wiedenfeld and Hastings both produced tremendously for the victors, with Wiedenfeld notching seven points on five goals and two assists and Hastings bagging seven points on four goals and three helpers.

John Derhak and Brunet each potted three goals for the Lancers, and Navarro scored once. Lewis Carroll contributed two assists.

LHS goalie Chris Rowan made seven saves his contribution to the lopsided win.
