The annual Strong Man and Woman Competition at the Old Home Day celebration on Saturday afternoon was decided after three long rounds under brutally hot conditions. On the mens side, three competitors made it through ringing the bell 100 times. Two moved onto the final speed round, managing another 75 tolls of the bell. In the end, new comer Mike Phillips, at far left, won after ringing the bell near 200 times. The defending champ Randy Collins, center was edged out in the speed round.
