Varsity Field Hockey Team Win Back-to-Back Contests

The Londonderry High School Field Hockey squad was able to put an end to their losing streak with two consecutive wins on the road last week.
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, the Lady Lancers traveled to Salem High School, where they were able to outlast the Blue Devils with a close 1-0 victory.
Londonderry’s only goal was put in the box by junior Ava Windisch with the assist going to senior Maya Silvestro.
Sophomore goaltender, Abbigail Cook, made four stops in the game to help her team secure the victory.
The Salem tender made eight saves against the Lancers offense.
Two days later, in Manchester, LHS claimed a 3-1 win over Manchester Central-West for their second consecutive win and to up their season record to 6-6.
Windisch, junior Sara Daniels and junior Keira Strike made the goals for Londonderry, while senior Ashleigh Leone notched two assists.
Cook was able to make three saves in preserving the win.
With just four games left in the season, the Londonderry squad is looking to finish strong playing three games this week, and finishing up with one in the final week of the regular season.
They are scheduled to play the winless Nashua North titans at home on Monday, Oct. 2, followed by a road game with Exeter (7-4) on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
The Lancer team is scheduled to finish the week at home on Friday, Oct 6, against the Keene Blackbirds (5-4), starting at 4 p.m.
