Veterans Breakfast Draws Large Crowd at High School Café

Staff and students of the Londonderry High School rekindled the annual Veterans Day Breakfast on Saturday and welcomed local veterans for a breakfast buffet, music, gifts, and thanks for their service. The event was organized by LHS Assistant Principal Katie Sullivan and featured music by students and the LHS Symphonic Band. World War II veteran John “Bud” Powers, top left, was recognized as the oldest member of the community at 104-years old. Powers was a member of the U.S. Army’s 77th Infantry. Band member, Joey Cain sang a salute to each of the armed forces accompanied by the band. Other performances included Logan Bower “Amazing Grace” Kelsey Sweet “The Sound of Silence” and Frank Thomas with Rae Pizza. Raffle prizes and centerpieces were also given out to a number of veterans. Photos by Chris Paul
