The Londonderry High School Swim Teams competed in the annual NHIAA Division I Swim and Dive Championship on Saturday, Feb. 10, with two student athletes finishing in the top three of the races they competed in.
As a team, both the boys’ and girls’ landed in the middle of the pack statewide, but had a number of good showings from some of the younger members of the squad.
Sophomore Will Erdtmann placed second in the Boys’ 100-Yard Butterfly with an excellent time of 53:69, just under a second behind the winner with a time of 52:36.
Erdtmann was also in the top three of the Boys’ 200-Yard Individual Medley. He had a total time of 2:02.26 for third place in that event.
He was also the second leg of the 200-Yard Medley Relay, where the LHS team placed fifth with a time of 1:59.84. Other members of the relay team were: sophomore Kayden Raadmae, sophomore Sam Munsey, and junior Braeden Raduazzo.
The boys’ team of Munsey, Raduazzo, Erdtmann, and sophomore Theo Paccione finished sixth in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay.
Lancer freshman, Helena Smart, had a nice finish to her first year on the team with a third place showing in the Girls’ 50-Yard Freestyle. Smart had a time of 26.21, just two-seconds behind the winner and a second behind the second-place finisher.
Smart also had a third place finish in the 100-Yard Freestyle with her time of 56.41. The winner came in at 53.97.
Freshman Mia Robinson had a sixth-place finish in the Girls’ 200-Yard Individual Medley with her time of 2:25.76.
Robinson took seventh in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:06.
The team of Robinson, Smart, junior Ari Fennessey, and junior Ali Von Pichl had a seventh-place finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay at 1:56.53.
Bedford and Dover High School’s took first and second as a team in both the Boys’ and the Girls’ Championship.
