LMS L Softball Captures Tri-County DI Championship

The Londonderry Middle School Storm L softball team put together a season to remember, finishing with an impressive 11-1 record and earning the Tri-County Division 1 Championship.

From the opening game to the final out, the Storm showed the kind of consistency, teamwork, and determination that makes championship teams special. The season was highlighted by outstanding coaching, strong fundamentals, and a group of players who brought energy and confidence to every game.

The Storm entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed and remained focused on their ultimate goal. That focus paid off in the championship game, where Londonderry defeated Timberlane 7-4 to claim the Tri-County Division 1 title.

Throughout the season, the Storm proved to be one of the most complete teams in the league. The offense produced a team batting average of .391, with players delivering everything from big home runs to clutch singles when the team needed them most.

The defense was just as impressive, making key plays in critical moments, flashing the glove, and making timely stops to prevent opponents from putting together rallies. The pitching staff kept hitters off balance all season by throwing strikes and mixing pitches effectively.

One of the most memorable moments of the season came when seventh-grade pitcher Kendall Qualter delivered a perfect game against Windham Middle School. Qualter was nearly untouchable, pitching all seven innings without allowing a hit, run, walk, or earned run. She struck out 16-batters and faced just 21-hitters.

Qualter’s perfect game was part of a special season for Londonderry pitching this year, as another LHS standout hurler, senior Elisabeth Kearney of the Lancers, also threw a perfect game against Windham High School. Kearney and Qualter both had remarkable performances, each going seven innings with zero hits, zero runs, zero walks, and 16 strikeouts while facing 21 batters.

The championship roster featured contributions from every part of the team, including Maddie Rivera, Hailey Raiche, Jenna McManus, Kaylee Metivier, Carlee Boggs, Madison Clement, Danilynn Febbo, Ava Folsom, Abby Waterhouse, Sophia Robinson, Kendall Qualter, Kinsey Vaske, Quinn Porter, and Payton Hillard.

The Storm were led by coaches Samantha Daniels, Lee Makris, and Keith McHugh, who helped guide the team through a season filled with strong games and memorable moments.

With a championship trophy and an 11-1 record to show for their efforts, the LMS Storm L softball team capped off a season filled with teamwork, resilience, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.
