A Londonderry Police officer was seriously injured Thursday evening, June 11, when his motorcycle collided with an SUV while responding to a separate rollover crash on Stonehenge Road.

Officer Randy Dyer, a longtime member of the Londonderry Police Department with more than 25 years of service, was traveling toward the rollover scene near Stonehenge Road and Hardy Road when the crash occurred near the intersection of Hardy Road and Pheasant Run Road.
The collision left Officer Dyer with serious injuries, including a head injury and lower-extremity injuries. Londonderry Fire personnel initially requested a Boston MedFlight helicopter due to the severity of the crash. The helicopter was later canceled, and Dyer was transported by ambulance to Elliot Hospital in Manchester, where he was listed in stable condition.
The injuries kept Officer Dyer hospitalized and prevented him from attending his son Brandon’s high school graduation the following day – a milestone he had hoped to share with his family.
The driver of the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. A witness also stayed at the scene to assist police with the investigation.
Both crashes required a significant emergency response. Londonderry Fire and multiple mutual-aid agencies responded to the original rollover on Stonehenge Road and the subsequent motorcycle crash on Hardy Road.
The driver involved in the Stonehenge Road rollover was briefly trapped inside the vehicle but was later freed and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the incident, the Londonderry Police Department released a statement regarding Officer Dyer’s condition and the cooperation of those involved.
“Our officer was transported by ambulance to Elliot Hospital in Manchester. At this time, he is in stable condition. The operator of the other vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.”
The following day, members of the Londonderry Police Department showed their support for their fellow officer by attending Brandon Dyer’s graduation ceremony.
After the ceremony, a large group of officers gathered to congratulate Brandon and celebrate his achievement, making sure the Dyer family knew their police family was standing behind them.
Although Officer Dyer could not be there, his colleagues made sure he was represented during an important moment for his son – a reminder of the strong bond shared among those who serve the local community.
