Tea for the Troops Raises Support, Awareness for Veterans

Kerri Kennedy and her husband Matt, along with friends Sharon DaGosto and Alison Lawrence, recently hosted the annual “Tea for the Troops” fundraiser on the grounds of the Londonderry Historical Society.

The event, which began years ago as a small tea party on the Kennedy family’s front lawn, has grown into a community-wide effort dedicated to supporting injured veterans.

The group raises funds and awareness for service members, with proceeds benefiting the Home Base Program, which provides care and mental health resources to veterans and their families.

General Matt Kennedy and Kerri opened the event by sharing the mission behind Tea for the Troops and the importance of recognizing the challenges many veterans face after returning home.

Since its beginning, the fundraiser has raised tens of thousands of dollars and helped bring attention to the needs of those who have sacrificed in service to the country.

“Learn, reach out to a service member, grow your understanding of what these service members need, and lend them a hand,” Matt Kennedy told attendees.
